Due to its “self-lock” feature, phosphate wire buckles have a strong slip resistance, maximising holding power. The wire buckle has a small dent, or W shape, at the corner of the tensioning side to allow the buckle to close more tightly, making it more effective, less slippery, and more robust. Phosphated wire buckles are designed to be used with woven strapping bands. A special coating on the wire buckle makes it blunter, ultimately preventing the strapping from slipping and preventing galling.
