The Hydrocarbon Adsorption Unit Desiccators are designed to protect electronically, computer, electrical, telecommunication, and other similar equipment from dampness, corrosion, and possible contamination. These desiccators are easily mountable on the metal panel of the machines and equipment to absorb moisture that accumulates within. These desiccators can be combined with a humidity indicator, which provides a visual indication of maximum moisture absorption.
The humidity indicator within these panel mounting desiccators absorbs moisture until saturation and indicates when the unit needs cartridge replacement or desiccant change. When the contained desiccant is dry, it shows a blue colour, and when it absorbs the maximum quantity of moisture, it turns pink.
These desiccators use either a Molecular Sieve or Silica Gel for absorbing moisture or humidity. These units significantly reduce the incoming moisture level or existing moisture to suitable levels. When the machine or equipment is subject to instant failure due to the condensation of water vapours, it is advisable to use a Molecular Sieve.
The use of Molecular Sieve as a desiccant helps in maintaining a low level of relative humidity. It is suitable for use with highly sensitive equipment where enclosures are subject to operate at lower temperatures and condensation of water vapours should not occur. When the desiccators entirely use the desiccant cartridge, it is replaceable with a new unit. These desiccators are suitable for equipment that operates in low-temperature environments.
