Silica Gel Breathers

The ‘R’ Series transformer breathers are manufactured using UV-stabilized polycarbonate material and are available in three sizes. The silica gel breathers have a transparent polycarbonate body, allowing users to easily assess the desiccant charge and check its condition without difficulty.

The desiccant breathers can be mounted on the transformer using the ¾” female pipe thread connection, which also serves as the access point for filling and emptying the desiccant. The transformer vent breathers are equipped with two-way, low-pressure valves at the base to maintain optimal functionality. These valves ensure the desiccant receives atmospheric air when negative pressure differences occur within the protected equipment.

Transformer humidity regulators are filled with colour-changing silica gels. This silica gel undergoes a visual transformation from orange to green, providing an easy-to-notice indication when the breather requires replacement or refilling. If requested, thread adaptors and alternative fill materials can be provided to cater to specific needs.
