The highest forces during trucking often appear in the accelerating or braking process. Despite paying attention to the roads, there may be a possibility of an emergency brake. Transporation often causes movement and impacts on goods.
During shipping, the heavy seas cause intense forces that may result in movement of the cargo. Transporting goods by rail may set forces four times higher than from the sea or road transit. Vertical driving direction and reverse forces are especially tremendous.
Thus, despite incorporating a safe strapping and/or lashing system to secure the cargo, dunnage air bags should also be used.
Dunnage air bags are used to secure a cargo and create a bulkhead during transit. These bags are great void fillers to prevent movement and absorb impacts in a sea container, rail car, truck, vessel or intermodal.
Dunnage air bags combine IN-LINER (also known as the bladder or balloon) which hold the compressed airtight at high-pressure levels, and OUT-LINER (the cover) to give the bags the shape, stability and enormous strength. To ensure perfect tightness even under high pressure, all our dunnage air bags IN-LINER are made of a specially extruded polyethene (PE-mixture). At HumiPak, the OUT-LINER of the air bags come in two different materials – Kraft Paper and Woven Polypropylene (PP).
Secure Goods with Dunnage Bags
Available in 1, 2, 4 and 6 ply, these bags can be applied to the in-liner in multiple layers, making it extremely strong.
Woven PP dunnage bags make a good alternative to the paper dunnage bags as they are lighter and recyclable. In addition, it is also water-resistant.
During application, place the dunnage air bag in the gaps between your cargo and start inflating the air bag with compressed air. To fill the bags with ease, simply use our valve systems. At HumiPak, the two types of valve systems available are Standard Valve and MEGAFlow fast filling valve. The bag is filled enough when it sits tight and unmovable in the vault. Ensure that the bags are not overfilled with compressed air to avoid damage to your cargo.
HumiPak provides 2 types of dunnage bags; Woven PP Dunnage Bag and Paper Dunnage Bag. Click on the products below to know more…
