What are Safety Cutters?
Product damage is a persistent issue in warehouses or stores, especially when workers open the boxes. Commonly, the products inside the packages get cuts or damage during the packaging ripping and tearing process. The blade on traditional cutting tools usually is adjustable by the user. Thus, this will cause the risk of product damage, and workers can get injured if the cutter’s blade is pushed too long by the user.
Safety Cutters are designed to prevent product damage for both industrial and commercial packaging during cutting and opening the packaging. With a unique design of the safety cutters, they can ensure that boxes are opened safely and faster without causing any risk of product damage and people getting injured. These tools offer excellent performance and up to five times longer-lasting usage compared to traditional cutters.

How to use Safety Cutters?
1. Set the Blade Depth
- Push down and rotate blade depth dial to position
- Position (1) “Single wall boxes
- Position (2) “Double wall boxes
- Position (3) “Utility cut
- (L) “Lock position
2. Squeeze Trigger to Expose Blade
- Squeeze the trigger to engage blade
- Once the blade is engaged in box, relax the grip on the trigger
3. Edge Guides
- Left and right-handed guides can be bushed out for easy to cuts
- When using the edge guide, place your thumb on the top of the edge guide
4. Loading Blades
- Top cover opens for blade change and spare blade compartment
- Place only two blades in the rear storage area; any more will cause a malfunction
Note to never cut with the blade at 90º angle, always angle the cutter to ride along the flattened area about 20º.
Benefits of Using Safety Cutters
Minimise the Risk of Product Damage and Work Injury
Safety Cutters have precise blade depth settings for single, double, and triple wall boxes. Thus, the user can adjust the accurate blade depth to cut the different densities of the wall, decreasing the risk of the blade contact with the goods inside the boxes.
Also, an ergonomic handle on Safety Cutters helps users to prevent injury as long as the handle is released, it will auto retract. When users are not using the cutter, they can turn the precise blade depth to lock mode so that the blade will not come out. When the blade becomes blunt, the traditional cutter blade must snap off the used blade by hand, which will cause a high risk of getting injured. While for the Safety Cutter blade, it is easy to be changed as we have to open the top of the cutter and replace a new one into the blade compartment.
Cost Saving
With a quality blade design, the blade can cut more than 5000 feet of materials. For the Easy Cut series, a belt clip setting that allows the user to clip the cutter at the belt or pocket is available, reducing the probability of the cutter being lost in the warehouse.
Increase Efficiency and Stability for the Cutting Process
The design of the edge guide helps users cut the cardboard faster and easier. Users can cut the boxes into better shape/straight lines with the guidance of an edge guide.
